Daily Punch 4-12-18 Orion’s Apprentice Ranger Archetype for DnD 5e

How about a giant that teaches a hunter to be a better stalker?

 

Orion’s Apprentice

Not all giants are evil, some are simply boisterous, and your master is no different.  Orion is a master huntsman who has gift far above mortal men and giants.  He has taken you under his wing and provided you with gifts that are amazing and terrible to behold.

 

Orion’s Own Gifts

At 3rd level, you gain some of the masters power as you train in his stead.  You gain advantage on all Strength(athletics) and Wisdom(survival) checks.  In addition, you gain the ability to cast waterwalk once per day.

The Gifts of Helios

At 7th level, you gain the gift of healing from the sun itself.  Once per day, as a bonus action you may spend as many healing surges as you want healing as normal from each surge.

Gift of Sirius

At 11th level, you gain the gift of survive from the master’s dog.  You gain conjure animals as an extra prepared spell.  You may also cast conjure animals once per day as a bonus action. that does not require concentration and the animals last for up to eight hours.  The animals conjured by this spell still act as if summoned by the spell conjure animals,  but you may only conjure an animal that is canine in nature if you cast this spell as a bonus action.

Final Lesson of the Master

At 15th level, you learn exactly what was such a painful lesson for the maters.  From now on you can coat your weapons in poison from a scorpion changing all your weapon damage to poison if you choose.  In addition, you can a number of time per day equal to your wisdom modifier coat your weapons in Wyvern poison.  A creature struck with this weapon  must make a Constitution saving throw (DC equal to your spell save DC) taking 30 (10d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Made to tend to the wounds of an everdying giant demigod, this potion not only heals the body it can restore the soul.  When drank, the potion acts as if the spell regenerate had been cast on the drinker.  If given to a dead creature within one hour of its death, the potion also acts as if resurrection had been cast on the drinker as well.

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous

Healing energy washes over a touched creature, filling it with vitality. The target heals 4d8 hit points

If you target a plant creature or a magical plant, the spell heals 8d8 hit points of damage.

If you target a nonmagical plant that isn’t a creature, such as a tree or shrub, it instantly doubles in size growing with tremendous speed.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the healing effect increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 4th if cast on any normal creature, but it heals 2d8 for each spell slot above 5th if cast upon a plant creature or magical plant.

Daily Punch 4-3-18 Fist of the Earth spell for DnD 5e

Fist of the Earth

3rd-level conjuration

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: instantaneous

You punch the earth with a warcry and the earth punches up to three targets in range that is on the ground or within five feet of the ground.  Each target must make a Dexterity saving throw.  On a failure the target takes 10d6 magic bludgeoning damage as a shaft of earth springs forth and rams into the target.  The target also is thrown and lands prone.  The distance the target is thrown depends on the size of the target.  If the target succeeds in its saving throw, it takes half damage and is not thrown.

Basics-Long forgotten lore is appearing across Golarion and you need a nice dice set to face it!  Q-Workshop bring you a new set of dice tailor made for your next Pathfinder game. Let’s take a look at what I think.

Quality-Q-Workshop knows how to make some higher end dice!  These are not a top of the line $50 dice set, but let’s be honest, almost no dice are worth that much unless they are blessed by Gygax himself!  What is here is an amazingly well produced dice set. They feel good to roll, are about the right size, and are a decent cost for what you get. These will cost you a bit more, since they are custom made for the Ruins of Azlant adventure path, but a standard dice set costs $8-$9, and this set retails for about $13.  I would like these dice to be a bit larger as well. I like a bit more heft to my dice, but this isn’t a major problem. Overall, these are a well produced dice set. 4/5

Readability– Ed’s getting old, and if I can’t read a dice face from across the table, that dice goes away in the Royal Crown bags in the depths of my basement.  These faces pop! It’s a nice blue base with a bright yellow color to the faces. I can see what I rolled from three feet away, and that makes me happy!  5/5

Style– The dice faces have more on them than the simple numbers.  I really like the little extra bits and the symbol on the high dice face of each die.  It all looks beautiful and makes me want to use these dice. You’re paying for a bit more for some pretty art, and it does feel like it comes out in the designs.   5/5

Summary-We all start with a simple set of dice.  Basic numbers on a set that get the job done.  Those dice are fine. But, there is NEVER enough dice, and when you can play an adventure path with dice made for that adventure path, it feels amazing!  This is a great set of dice that looks awesome, feels great at the table, and won’t be an eye strain. If you want to be the best looking roller at your Azlant game, this is the place to start.  93%

They sent me a dice that show off all their different designs on d6s.  THIS IS AMAZING! They also sent me my wife’s favorite thing-they catalog of dice!  They produce dice for many different systems. What’s awesome here is the sheer variety of different dice and systems they support.  Want to bling out your Arkham Horror game with bless and curse dice? They have them! I don’t know what Polaris is, but I know I’m buying a set and going to get a copy of the game to read about it!  My wife loved the different Pathfinder dice and was picking out new dice as I wrote this review. Daily Punch 4-2-18 Weapon of the Gods cantrip for DnD 5e

Let’s keep rolling with our focus for the our first book.  Here is a Divine Cantrip.

 

Weapon of the Gods

Conjuration cantrip

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: touch
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous

You conjure the weapon of your gods into your hand and swing with all the might of your god.  If you succeed on a melee spell attack the target takes 1d8 magic bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing damage, your choice.

The spell’s damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).

Daily Punch 3-29-18 Lizardman descriptor for Numenera/Cypher System

I was running Numenera last night, and a friend wanted to play a lizardman.  So, I custom’ed up one on the fly!

Lizardman (descriptor)

Your people walked the earth as mighty dinosaurs long ago, you are the spawn of magic, or you might be the child of dragons and man.  In either case, you are a large lizard person.  You are covered in scales, claws, and now stride the Earth walking your own path.

You gain the following Benefits:

Muscular: +2 to your Might Pool.

Armored: You are always considered to be wearing light armor that does not encumber you.  You only apply the largest armor you are wearing.

Claws: You’re always considered to have light weapons due to your claws.

Skills:You’re trained in all actions that involve balance due to you tail.

Skills:You’re trained in all action that require swimming and water or you can be trained in enduring desert environments.  Once this choice is made, you may not change it later.

Skills:You’re trained in all actions that require tracking due to your enhanced sense of smell.

InabilityYou’re have trouble interacting with other races due to your abstract nature.

Initial Link to  the Starting Adventure: From the following list of options, choose how you become involved in the first adventure.

  1. Your draconic parent sent you to investigate some trouble involving another of the PCs.
  2. You have been taken in by another PC who saw you mistreated as a child.

Daily Punch 3-28-18 Empower Weapon spell for DnD 5e

We can enlarge people, so how about we just empower weapons as well?

Empower weapon

2nd-level transmutation

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S, M (a pinch of powdered steel)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

You fill an in range target’s weapon with raw power for the duration.  The weapon deals much more damage on a successful attack that it normally would.  The weapons damage increases by one step up this dice chain from its normal damage-1d3-1d4-1d6-1d8-1d10-1d12/2d6-2d8-2d10-4d6-4d8-4d10.  This damage does not count as magical unless the weapon was already magic and is of the same type as the weapon usually deals.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the weapon’s damage increases by one additional step each slot level above 2nd.
