Daily Punch 7-7-15 Fighting Training feat for DnD 5e

What if you just want to splash a little fighter into your wizard?  Let’s see if we can make that happen!

Fighting Training

All those nights around the fire pit have paid off as you’ve learned how to truly handle yourself in a fight.  Gain the following benefits:

  • Increase either your strength, dexterity, or constitution score by 1 to a maximum of 20.
  • Learn one Fighting Style from the Paladin, Fighter, or Ranger lists.

Daily Punch 7-1-15 Unconventional Handling feat for Pathfinder

I have a player in an online game who absolutely loves here reach weapon, but she can’t do much up close.  Let’s work on that.

Unconventional Handling (Combat)

You choke up on the handle when others are loose, and loose when others choke.

Prerequisites: Combat Expertise, Weapon Focus in a reach weapon

Benefit: You may make attacks without penalty against any creature adjacent to you with a reach weapon.

Note:You may take this feat multiple times as long as you have Weapon Focus in the weapon and the weapon is a reach weapon.

Daily Punch 6-17-15 Speed of Thought Feat for DnD 5e

Let’s keep building on the dual save feats.

Speed of Thought

You can either out think your opponents or simple out move them.  Maybe it’s a bit of both.  Gain the following benefits:

  • Dexterity saving throws can be made using your Intelligence modifier, and Intelligence saving throws can be made using your Dexterity modifier.
  • If you add your proficiency bonus to both Dexterity and Intelligence saving throws, add 1 and 1/2 (rounded down) your proficiency bonus instead.

Daily Punch 6-16-15 Force of Will feat for DnD 5e

I liked the 4e DnD ideas of Will saves being Charisma or Wisdom.  Let’s see if we can’t bring that back…

Force of Will

Your mind is a fortress unto its own.  Gain the following benefits:

  • Wisdom saving throws can be made using your Charisma modifier, and Charisma saving throws can be made using your Wisdom modifier.
  • If you add your proficiency bonus to both Charisma and Wisdom saving throws, add 1 and 1/2 (rounded down) your proficiency bonus instead.

Daily Punch 4-16-15 Way of the Chair and Table

Let’s continue building on the monk with a chair theme from yesterday.

Way of the Chair and Table (Combat)

You’ve trained, and you’ve drank.  At this point, your fists are good, but the chair is better.

Prerequisite: Catch Off-Guard, Monk unarmed damage, Way of Your Surroundings

Benefit: When you use an improvised weapon the size of a chair or larger, your unarmed damage with improvised weapons increases by one step up the monk dice chain.  When you use something like a table, you gain the benefits and penalties of a tower shield while not losing your monk bonuses due to using a shield.

Daily Punch 4-15-15 Way of Your Surroundings feat for Pathfinder

I saw someone online asking for this feat. Let’s make it happen.

Way of Your Surroundings (Combat)

You’re as much of a student of the monastery as you are a student of the bar.  Now you swing equally well with your fists as you do with a chair.

Prerequisite: Catch Off-Guard, Monk unarmed damage

Benefit: When you use an improvised weapon of small or larger, the weapon does bludgeoning damage equal to your unarmed monk damage.

Daily Punch 4-6-15 Empowered Healing feat for Pathfinder

Let’s make something for Pathfinder!  How about the ability to super charge some healing?

Empowered Healing

You can increase the power of your spells, but only for healing.

Prerequisite: Empower Spell feat

Benefit: When you prepare spells for the day, you may choose a number of spells equal to your spell casting ability modifier that are of the conjuration(healing) school.  All variable, numeric effects of an empowered healing spell are increased by half including bonuses to those dice rolls.

Saving throws and opposed rolls are not affected, nor are spells without random variables.

Level Increase: +1 (an empowered healing spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell’s actual level.)
