You are hyper focused.  No minute detail escapes your notice.  However the major details slip right by.  When you make a  Intuition+ Perception check to observe something, you must ask a detailed question regarding one situation, person, or object.  You can a +1 bonus for to the dice pool, but you only get the exact answer to your question.  You can never receive general details for any perception check.  As an example, you can look at people in the street and ask about on person in the street.  That one person may be the important target, but you may also be asking about a random person uninvolved in anything you care about.

Daily Punch 7-13-15 Go for Broke! positive quality for Shadowrun 5e

If you can do it in Dungeons and Dragons 5e, you should be able to do it in Shadowrun 5e.  Let’s make that happen!

Cost: 10 karma

You like to pull success from the jaws of failure.  Maybe you succeed in the clutch, maybe you’re just lucky.  When you lose 1/2 of your attack dice pool from negative modifiers to your dice pool and you gain 1 net success over the opponents dodge roll, add your edge score to the success total.

Looking over some negative qualities, and I’d like to add another!

STANK!

Bonus: 4 karma per level (1 to 3 levels)

Maybe you just don’t shower after binges on the matrix.  Maybe the dumpster you call home just doesn’t have indoor plumbing.  Or maybe that hippy, dippy mage commune doesn’t have hot water.  Whatever your reason, you just STANK!  It’s in the area, it’s all around you, and it so physically palpable, it hurts!  For each rank you have in this quality, reduce the dice pool of any social tests anyone on your team makes by 1.  People who can’t smell are unaffected.

Reading Run and Gun.  Let’s add some ideas to the qualities…

Sunday Driver!

Prerequisite: at least one rake in a pilot skill

Bonus: 4 karma

You just can’t seem to win!  You follow all the traffic laws, signal properly, stay BELOW the speed limit, and yet EVERYONE give you the one finger salute when they pass you.  When you drive, you vehicle only goes a maximum of 3/4 of its normal speed, and you reduce the handling rating of any vehicle you drive by 1.

Daily Punch 6-30-15 Ghost in the Machine positive quality for Shadowrun 5e

Reading some Shadowrun books for a review.  One quality inspired me.

Ghost in the Machine

Cost: 12 karma

You love you the gear you ride in, even when you’re not there!  Characters with this quality are just that much more with their toys then characters who don’t.  When you are jumped into a drone or vehicle, gain a +1 dice pool modifier to all Pilot Skill tests and increase the vehicles Handling rating by 1.

Reading about the vamps, and it made me think of something.  Had a friend suggest the seed of this idea!

When you take a hit, you don’t get to choose to take a dive-you just do it automatically.  You’re a lightweight when it comes to taking a hit, falling more times than Glass Jaw Joe.  When determining if you are knocked down from a strike, divide your physical limit by 2 (rounding down, minimum 1).  You automatically are knocked down if you take five damage.

Let’s keep building of the small unit tactics idea.  What if you could double up on the abilities?

Dual Training

Cost: 5 karma

You don’t do anything by halves.  You don’t work small scale.  You like your cake, and you want to eat it too.  When you do a small unit tactics test, you can, in the same free action, name two different abilities.  You can make your small unit tactics test as normal, but the needed successes is the sum of both selected abilities.  Only other characters with this same quality can assist with your small unit tactics test, but characters without this quality can benefit from its result.  If you don’t get the needed successes of both abilities, neither triggers.

Been reading Run and Gun for a few missions.  I think small unit tactics don’t get enough love.  Let’s add some bonuses to that.

Tactics Training

Cost: 10 Karma

You drill, then you drill, and then….you drill some more!  After 10,000 thousand times doing the same thing again, you MIGHT just not screw it up!  When you are effected by a bonus from a small unit tactics ability, increase the bonus by 1, or increase any penalties the enemy is affected by by 1.
