I just went to a Hibachi restaurant with my wife, and it inspired me to come up with a background for a DnD Next character.

 

Shou Traveling Cook

You are a cook, but not just any cook.  You have learned an art the combines performance, grace, cutlery, and cooking.  You move your blades in quick arcs and make food dance on your grill.  You have traveled the world showing off your art and it has funded your adventures.

Trait- Performance for Pay

When you stop in any notable location with people or sentient creatures that are at least indifferent to you, you may attempt to make a living in this location.  Make a performance check with disadvantage.  You gain as many copper pieces as your performance check.  Your DM has discretion regarding your ability to repeat this performance, and different patrons may pay different amounts for your skills.

• Your physical attacks count as cold iron for bypassing resistance from fey

You survived what would crush a normal man.  You survive the necropolis that is Thay, and picked up a few tricks along the way

• When you attack an undead creature, instead of normal resistance, it only resists a quarter of your damage, not half.

Well, the DnD Next rules are almost done.  I’m really liking what I’ve seen in the public play test and the latest DnD encounters season.  With that in mind, how about a feat to help fighters out a bit?

 

Extra Style

You’ve trained yourself as a weapon.  Now you’ve gone beyond most weapons and have truly become the double edged sword.

prerequisite: member of a class that has fighting style and has taken one fighting style

Squid-  You can a +5 bonus to checks to grab someone and to checks to prevent some one from escaping form a grab

 

Rage

Squid- When you have someone grabbed, you can perform a grab check to damage an opponent.  If you succeed, you do 3d6+strength damage.

How about a feat for DnD Next that improves on Archery Master?

 

Archery Prodigy

You are a true expert at the bow.

prerequisite: Archery Master

• Gain a +1 to dexterity to a maximum of 20.
• When you make two attacks with the Archery Master Feat, the penalty is now a -2.
