Daily Punch 4-27-20 Heroic Critical feat for DnD 5e

Been playing a lot of Eberron lately.  I have some big damn heroes in my party, so let’s help them be heroes!

 

 

Heroic Critical

You are the protagonist of the story!  Gain the following benefits:

  • When you roll a natural 20 on an attack roll or skill check, gain a hero point.
  • When you spend a hero point to add to a roll, if the result of the d20 and the hero point die equal 20, you can count the roll as a critical for all effects of the roll.

Daily Punch 4-16-20 Jolt cantrip for DnD 5e

I want to keep exploring the idea of giving every character something for each action.  How about a quick cantrip for the wizards and warlocks out there?

Casting Time: reaction

Range: 20 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous

When a creature enter within 20 feet of you, as a reaction, you can cause  the creature to make a Dexterity saving throw.  If the creature fails the save, it is dealt lightning damage equal to your level divided by 2, minimum 1.

Daily Punch 4-15-20 Rapid Healing spell for DnD 5e

Had a character want to heal, but couldn’t and it slowed up the combat.  How about a way to make this work!

 

Rapid Healing

1st-level evocation

Casting Time: reaction

Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous

A concentration on a creature in range that just started its turn or one that just took damage, and it regains a number of hit points equal to 1d3 + your spellcasting ability modifier.

This spell has no effect on undead or constructs.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the healing increases by 1d3 for each slot level above 1st.

Daily Punch 4-2-20 Conceal Beast Ranger spell for 5e DnD

Missed April fools, but I hae some ideas for some awesome tricks!

 

Conceal Beast

1st-level transmutation

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Components: V, S
Duration: 8 hour

You touch a friendly creature you control. The target transforms into a baby form.  Its stats still remain the same except for its weight and size which become normal for a baby of that species.  With a free action or reaction you can dispel conceal beast.  The spell also ends if the target takes damage or attack another target.

Daily Punch 2-19-20 Foul Blessing spell for DnD 5e

One last reaction spell for DnD 5e.

 

Foul Blessing

Casting Time: reaction
Range: 30 feet
Components: V
Duration: instantaneously

A creatures making an ability check that you can see within range must make Charisma saving throws.  If the target fails this saving throw makes, the target must roll a d8 and subtract the number rolled from the check.

Daily Punch 2-6-20 Cook feat for DnD 5e

I think hit dice and temp HP don’t get enough love.  Let’s have a nice home cooked meal.

 

Cook

Nothing replaces a nice meal to help you start strong after a rest.  Gain the following benefits:

  • Increase your Constitution by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • When you take a short or long rest, you can spend a ration or equivalent amount of food and cook.  You can’t do anything else during the rest, but you still count as resting for other purposes.  Any who eat of your prepared food can spend as many hit dice as they want instead gaining temporary hit points in addition to any hit dice spent to regain hit points as normal.  You can not spend more than half, rounded up, your hit dice to gain temporary hit points in this way.

Daily Punch 2-3 to 2-5 Helping the Warlock Hide with a few tools!

How about a bunch of tools to help a warlock hide as a different spell caster?

 

First we got to fix the hex problem…

 

Agony

1st level Enchantment

Level: 1
Casting time: 1 Bonus Action
Range: 90 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: 1 minute


You cause a creature in range to feel the full furry of your anger.  Once each round, starting on your turn, and refreshing at the start of each of your turns when the target takes damage, add an additional 1d6 psychic damage tot he target.

A remove curse cast on the target ends this spell early.

 

So we can replace hex… now we got to fix eldritch blast…. with a eldritch invocation!

Malformed Arcana

Choose a spell you can cast and a spell you can not cast.  The spell you can cast looks to all observers like the spell you cannot cast.  No other parts of the spell are altered, and casting detect magic will reveal the deception as the spell type will not change.  Intelligence(arcana) checks on your spell will still normally show the spell you can normally not cast.

 

ok we got the bread and butter of a warlock figured out, so now we fit the final pieces together…with a feat!

 

Deceptive Warlock

prerequisite:  warlock

Some warlocks are open about the pack they made, and others hide it as their masters need deception.  You hide in plain site to further your dark purposes.  Gain the following benefits:

  • Increase your Charisma by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • Gain two eldritch invocations that must both be malformed arcana.

 

First level Wizard that just happens to be a warlock behind the scenes is a go!
