Playing my monthly game of Delta Green, and I feel Will Power doesn’t get enough use in the game. Here is a new option for how to use it.
Push Through the Pain
When it all hits the fan, you are the one to pull through. When you taken enough damage to reduce you to 1 or 2 hit points, you can attempt to stay conscious by spending Willpower Points. The amount is always 1D4: roll the die and reduce your WP by that much and then attempt a CON x 5 roll. If you succeed you stay conscious for one round. You may keep attempting this at the start of your turns. If you fain any of these rolls, you immediately fall unconscious as normal.
I had a fun event last week at my Call of Cthulhu campaign after I killed two players via sanity loss from an elder god. How about we add that in as an option.
Bask in New Knowledge
When a character sees an elder god and would passes a sanity check, that character may elect to fail the roll. If they do so they take normal sanity loss as if they had failed the roll, but gain half the lost sanity as a bonus to their Cthulhu Mythos skill. Luck may by spent on a point by point basis to reduce sanity loss to avoid going insane.
How about some real luck for your DCC RPG Games?
When you roll a critical on a dice based on your class or your race, increase your luck score by 1. When you roll a natural 1, decrease your luck score by one. This change takes effect before any other rolls are done modifying any other rolls after the change in luck happens.
