I was playing some DnD Next with some friends, and I’ve had a special request for  an item

 

Bullwark Shield

A large shield made of heavy steel with a small arrow slit inthe front.  When viewed from above it looks like a large L.  The base is serrated to better dig into the ground

Price: 50gp

AC: +3

Weight: 50lb

Speed: -10 feet/-5 feet at Strength 16

Requires: Strength 13

This “shield” is not so much a shield as a portable wall.  You may use this as shield, but as a free action, you may dig the shield into the ground in front of you.  When you do so, you pick two connected sides.  You now have heavy cover from attacks made from those sides.  You may attack through the arrow slit at now penalty.

Let’s round out the last of my Defender Classes in pathfinder with the fighter  I think a feat will start this off nicely….

Intimidating Glare-You stare down one enemy until he has no choice but fight you-You may target an enemy as a swift action with an intimidation check.  The DC of the check is equal to 10+CR of the monster.  If you succeed, the monster takes a -1 moral penalty to all attacks that do not target you.  For every five you beat the DC by, the moral penalty increase by one.  Monsters immune to fear and mind effects or mindless are immune to this ability.

How about some love for the ranger in Pathfinder?

 

Intelligent Guidance-Its not what you know or who you know, its what your friends know-As a swift action, you may make a monster knowledge check against one monster that is considered you favored enemy.  The base DC for the check is equal to 10+CR of the monster.  If you meet the DC, you may extend you favored enemy benefits to every ally in 30 feet for one round.  For every five you beat the DC by, you may extend your benefits for an additional round.  This check only works for one particular enemy.  You must make additional checks for each enemy of a particular type you fight in a particular encounter.

Let’s do some catch up.  Lets add a bit more to the Swordmage magus


Magus Arcana:

Bound Blade (Su): The magus can spend 2 points from his arcane pool as a full round action. When he does so, he chooses one weapon with which he is proficient.  This blade is bound to the magus for 24 hours.  As a swift action, he can recall the bound blade to his hand.  This functions as greater teleport spell only targeting the weapon and with the destination of the wielders hand.  Also, while wielding the bound blade, the magus gains a +1 dodge bonus if wielding the blade one-handed or +2 dodge bonus if wielding the blade two-handed.

Played some pathfinder recently, I think the monk needs some love via a feat.

 

Strength of my Hand-Feat-When you strike with a weapon, its almost like you hit with your fists-When you use a weapon with which you are proficient, you may choose to use your unarmed damage instead of the weapons damage.  In addition, you may apply any effects that both the weapon and your unarmed attack, but you may only apply the higher magic bonus for the your unarmed attack or the weapon.

Lets add some more the the pathfinder Swordmage-how about some arcana to block damage?

Magus Arcana:

Spell Block (su):the magus can spend 1 or more points from his arcane pool as part of a reaction due to damage on you or an ally in 30 feet and lose the ability to cast a spell whose level equals the number of points spent.  For each point spent in this way roll a d6 and block that much damage.  You must choose the number of spell points spent when the damage is announced but before the amount of damage is revealed.

I haven’t made a Pathfinder Idea in a while, lets get back on to my quest to make the Magus the Pathfinder swordmage!  Lets start with teleportation!

 

Magus Arcana:

Dimensional Shift (su):the magus can spend 1 point from his arcane pool as part of a move action.  She may teleport some or all of his normal move.  She may use this as part of a charge, but she must move normally at least five feet before the teleport.

Level 1 Abjuration

Casting time one minute

Choose two targets, these two targets gain the benefit of an hours rest for triggering class features and spending healing surges.

Casting above first level-for every level cast above 1st, choose two more targets to gain the effects of the spell.  You must cast at second level to target yourself.

Is there room in DnD Next for the warlord?

How about two options for the fighter that make it more like the 4e warlord

Level 1: Superior Defense option

Stand Your Ground!:As an action, you may spend a number of expertise dice and one ally in 30 ft may spend the same number of hit dice.

Level 4: Unerring Attacker  option

Directed Assault!:As an action, you may spend one expertise die and one ally in 30ft may make take an action.
