I miss drawing aggro like in 4th Ed DnD. I know I may be the only one who misses 4th ed, BUT IT’S REAL TO ME!

Let’s bring back some of the better things from that edition.

Protective Single ActionFeat 1

Fighter Stance
With a keen eye, you assess the situation and prepare to protect you friends. Choose an enemy within your reach. If that enemy makes an attack that does not include you, you can use your reaction to give that creature a penalty to its attack equal to your prophecy bonus with the weapon you are wielding.

Target

1st-level enchantment

Casting Time:1 action
Range:30 feet
Components:V, S
Duration: 1 minute

Up to three creatures of your choice that you can see within range must make Wisdom saving throws. Also choose one willing creature in range to the the target.

Whenever a creature that fails this saving throw makes an attack roll that does not include the target, it has disadvantage on that attack roll.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 1st.

Time for some DnD basics based on how I want to run a game.

Herbalist

You focus on using local plants to heal your allies. You gain the following benefits:

  • Gain proficiency in Wisdom(medicine) or gain a +2 bonus to Wisdom(medicine) checks.
  • You gain the ability to use a herbalism kit to make simple healing potions if you spend one hour each day gathering resources. Each day you can make a number of doses equal to 1/2 your level. As an action, you can administer as many doses as you choose to yourself or an ally. Each doses heals 1d4 hit points. If not used within 24 hours, the doses expire.

Why would I use a lesser product?

Benefit: Choose a particular band of weapon or armor. You gain a bonus to damage or KAC and EAC equal to 1/4 your level, rounded down minimum 1. This bonus still applies to different versions of the same armor or weapon such as mark 1 vs mark 2, but not to different weapons or armors of the same type.

Special: You can choose this multiple times but each time this must be applied to a different weapon or armor types.

Let’s help those pathfinder fighters hop into fights quick when you try to attack them!

Situational Awareness ReactionFeat 18

Fighter
Trigger An enemy you are aware of within the distance of one stride targets you with a ranged attack.
You keep tabs on the world around you and react before your enemies get the best of you. Stride up to the triggering enemy and make a melee Strike against that enemy.

Thoughts? Level too high or too low?

I’ve seen research into how a person with a knife wins vs a person with a gun if the knife person is within 30 feet. Let’s make that a piece of DnD!

Situational Awareness

Just because you are not near by doesn’t mean you are an easy target. When a ranged attack is made against you and you are within 30 feet of the target, you may move up to the target and make a melee attack as a reaction. This movement provokes attacks as normal.

Been reading about religion again, so time for some crazy stuff!


Emerald Tablet Feat 20

Alchemist

You have found the lost tablet of the Thrice Blessed Alchemist learning the true secret-there is no difference between God, Magic, Man, and Molecules. You gain the ability to copy spells up to fifth level of any tradition into your formula book. You can cast these spells using a use of your infused reagents. You have to copy down those spells are normal, and the spells take the normal actions to cast. Your total level counts as the level for casting any spells.

Been thinking about alchemist fire and bottles of acid. Let’s make them more useful.

Equipment Expert

You’ve gotten good at throwing around your toys.  Gain the following benefits:

  • Increase your damage of alchemist fire by 1d4 for every other character level you have starting at 2nd level and the DC of your alchemist fire is 8 + proficiency bonus + your Dexterity Modifier.
  • Increase your damage of acid flasks by 1d6 for every other character level you have starting at 2nd level.

Splash Critical Feat 4

General
When you hit your target, every around feels it! When you critically hit a target and the weapon does splash damage and effects, treat the splash damage and effects as if it was a critical hit for modifying damages and effects, typically doubling the damage. Other feats, abilities, and items that modify critical hits and effects are applied to splash damage and effects as well
