Everybody knows that person.  This person has two anglo human parents in Brooklyn, but always gets confused with a half-Spanish/Half-Japanese dwarf from Africa.  It wouldn’t be so bad except the Human Polyclubs always tend to find this poor person when they go out to the McHugh’s.  Well, you’re “that” person.  When dealing with any non-player characters, any character who has a prejudice against any particular human race will always assume you are that race  and apply those penalties as appropriate.  Metatype penalties apply as normal.

Daily Punch 5-1-15 Someone from Anywhere quality for Shadowrun 5e

Let’s keep the hits rolling with some new qualities.

Someone from Anywhere

Cost: 7 karma

You look like the guy that everybody’s met. You get confused for street gangers from Hong Kong or upscale businessmen from Cheyenne.  When you have any interactions with any other persons, no race based prejudice are factored into these dealings.  People just assume your from whatever group they are from.  Metatype basis can still be factored into your dealings.

Daily Punch 4-29-15 Astrally Insensitive quality for Shadowrun 5e

Bug City Chicago is full of all kinds of horrible magic backgrounds.  Let’s see if we can work with that.

Astrally Insensitive

Cost: 7 karma per level (1-3 levels)

You’re attuned to the ways of mana, but other people’s mojo doesn’t throw you like it throws others.  For every level you have in this quality, decrease the background penalties you receive from a background count by one.

Daily Punch 4-28-15 Quick Adapter / Slow Adapter qualities for Shadowrun 5e

How about being able to deal with some background in a hurry?  How about NOT being able to adjust well?

Quick Adapter

Cost: 5 Karma

You’ve always been an early adapter.  You have the best commlinks and the newest grimoires.  You also are the quickest on the uptake.  Decrease the time it takes you to adapt to a background count by half.

And the flipside…

Slow Adapter

Bonus: 5 Karma

Honestly, you’ve never been “with it.”  Your style is at least 10 years out of date.  You can barely program your commlink, and don’t even get you on the AR as you can’t find your own PAN.  This is just like how you deal with magic.  Double the time it takes you to adjust to a background count.

Daily Punch 4-27-15 Liquid Encouragement Positive Quality for Shadowrun 5e

I have a player who’s a face who wants to get bonuses when he’s tippsy.  Let’s make that happen.

Liquid Encouragement

Cost: 5 Karma per rank( 1 to 3 ranks)

Requirement: Addition(alcohol) quality

Sometimes you need a little bit of encouragement.  You get yours from a bottle.  When you’ve a bit bit to drink ( or a bit more), you get a little looser, and its gets everybody a little more money when you meet with the Johnson.  For every rank you have in this quality, you may take a -1 dice pool penalty in all logic checks and gain an equal bonus to all Social skills, a bonus to Social Limit, and High Pain tolerance equal to the total bonus gained by this quality.

Daily Punch 4-14-15 Severing Magic Ties quality for Shadowrun 5e

Some creatures are magic, but don’t want to be.  Let’s do something about that….

Severing Magic Ties

Cost: 10 karma

You were a creature of magic and wonder, but you’ve changed that.  It’s hurt you badly.  Maybe not on the surface, but deep in your soul.  Decrease your essence by 1, and reduce your magic rating by 1.  If this would reduce your magic rating to 0, this does not kill you as it would normally.  You no longer count as dual natured as you only count as a physical being.  Any assensing test with three successes will determine that you used to be a dual natured creature.

Daily Punch 4-3-15 Two-Two Fast program for Shadowrun 5e

Can’t be in the right place at the right time?  Too many drones to run in all at once?  Let’s fix that up!

Two-Two Fast

This program splits your consciousness into two and must be run on a RCC.  When you run this program, you effectively pilot two drones at once.  If an action causes you to roll dice, you must split your total dice pool between the two drones as equally as possible, including all dice bonuses and penalties for being in the matrix.  However, this program is mildly addictive and exposure necessitates the same addiction test as BTL chips for your character.

Daily Punch 4-2-15 Jet Ax for Shadowrun 5e

I recently rewatched the the Super Mario Bros. movie.  While it might be somewhat painful, it also wasn’t as bad as I expected!  I did get one idea from that movie as I watched.  Let’s make a combat ax a slightly better choice!

Jet Ax:Where would your Neo Viking be without an ax that that has it’s own cyber-linked gasjet?  This ax can be used as a regular ax that with an accuracy of 5, AP -3, while doing (STR+7)P damage.  However, as a complex action using a wireless smartlink, a canister of CO2 can be fired shooting the ax ahead at an impressive speed using the better stats of the weapon.  Each canister has five charges before it must be replaced as a complex action.
