TL; DR– I solid ship to play on.  95%

Basics: We want a crew.  Why wouldn’t you join?  The Repentant is a ship-based adventure where the players join as crew, but the crew might need them for more than just workers.

Mechanics or Crunch: This book expands the game’s mechanics in fun ways.  The book is full of monsters, shanties, items, and other goodies.  The stuff here is well done and a fun addition to Pirate Borg.  5/5

Theme or Fluff– This is a great place to play, but not so much an adventure.  The book has solid hooks, but the onus of the adventure is on the players.  The players have to take the reins to really make stuff happen.  I love all the pieces the author made, but there isn’t a set story beyond how the players play in this sandbox.  4.25/5

Execution: I’m seeing a solid trend in Pirate Borg. The author releases art and picture packages with their PDF.  I love this.  The style may clutter the substance a bit, but it’s like the 80’s metal album covers obscured the song titles.  I’m ok with this, and it really sells the whole package. 5/5

Summary: This is a solid place to start a campaign.  You’ve got new toys for the Pirate Borg toolbox.  You’ve got fun things to fight, and you’ve got a whole ship to play with after the adventure.  I got the hooks I wanted for this adventure, but I’d like a bit more guidance on how to run this or some direct story to follow.  But if the main complaint is that I need more handholding, this is a good place to learn storytelling on my own.  95%
