Daily Punch 10-31-12

Here is a 3.5/4th edition feat for today

Gaining the Upper Hand after killing a non-minion enemy and reducing the total number of conscious enemies to below your number of conscious allies, make an intimidate check as a swift/minor action.  This check sets the DC for the sense motive check all enemies must make to avoid becoming frightened or freeing (DM choice).  Mindless enemies are immune.

Daily Punch 10-30-12

Its time for a multi game feat!

Advance into the cut when you kill an enemy with a melee attack, you may move 5 feet as a free action in between any other attacks this round.  Limit once per round.  This movement does not provoke any attacks from the enemies.

Monday Combo 10-22-12

I’ve been looking over the DnD next stuff, and do you know what it needs?  WARFORGED!

Warforged Racial Traits

-Living Construct-Unlike a construct, warforged are not immune to mind-affecting spells, but is immune to poison, sleep, paralysis, disease, nausea, fatigue, exhaustion, and energy drain.  Any spells that target living creatures do half the amount of damage or healing to a warforged.  Spells that fix physical objects like mending heal the full amount to a warforged

-warforged are considered to be in both wooden and metal armor for effects of spells and abilities. ie heat metal etc

-Warforged do not heal normally like other races and much be repaired via spells

-Warforged to not need to sleep, eat, or breathe, but may choose to do so

-Counts as a medium creature

-Gains plating- +2 armor that does not interfere with spell casting.

Distinct races

Front Line Combat Warforged

+1 bonus to CON

+1 bonus to all attack and damage rolls

Scout Warforged

+1 bonus to DEX

May build one small weapon into your body.  This weapon is considered masterwork and may be switched to as a free action.  To detect this weapon, anyone must make a wis(search) check vs your dex(stealth).

8-29-12 What’s this? DnD Next?

Ya know what DnD Next is missing?  That’s right, the Swordmage!

Specialty – Swordmage Training

Requirement- Magical Lore, proficiency with a sword

Through hard training your character is able to protect those who are dear to him/her through application of protective magic….

Level 1-Swordmage Aegis-Chose an enemy within 30 feet of your character, as a reaction that enemy gains disadvantage on all strikes that do not include you this turn.  If you are not next to the ally that the enemy strikes, each d20 rolled for the attack gains a +2 modifier

Level 3-Swordmage Rebuff-You gain an expertise die equal to a fighter of your level.  This expertise die may only be used in the following situation:  if any enemy under your Swordmage Aegis successfully attack an ally, you may as part of the same reaction from Swordmage Aegis roll your expertise die and subtract the amount shown from the damage to your ally.

Here are the first two feats for the Swordmage.  I think this works well with the current feat structure.  Much like the guardian, this character protects his allies, but does so from range.  Odds are this will change as more DnD Next info comes out and they change the specialties.  Its my first attempt at making some DnD next stuff so drop a line and tell me if its broken, underpowered, or just right.
